As the year draws to a close, the team at the Avocet Research Centre has taken a moment to look back at what’s been achieved and what’s ahead.
From new collaborations to expanded testing capabilities, 2025 has been a productive and focused year for our lab in Holmes Chapel. We’ve supported projects across battery materials, tab design, coatings, and lightweight components, while continuing to grow our team and facilities.
Practical Support for Material and Component Development
This year, ARC worked closely with customers in sectors including aerospace, motorsport, eVTOL, and energy storage. Our lab has been involved in:
- Prototyping new cell tab designs, including Flyweight
- Material compatibility studies for next-generation cells
- Feasibility work on coatings and surface treatments
- Early-phase testing and validation for manufacturing partners
- We’ve also started building new partnerships to support projects beyond battery materials, including applications in laser processing and advanced coatings.
Looking Ahead
As we move into 2026, we’re preparing for more collaboration and growth. In February, we’ll be exhibiting at Materials Research Exchange (MRE) 2026, where we’ll be sharing updates from across ARC’s current projects. We’re also continuing to expand the range of materials and systems we can work with.
Whether it’s developing lightweight components or evaluating new chemistries, we aim to give our customers answers they can use.
Thank You for a Positive 2025
We’re grateful for the conversations, partnerships, and progress we’ve made with our customers and collaborators this year.
From everyone at the Avocet Research Centre, we wish you a peaceful Christmas and a successful start to 2026. We’re looking forward to the opportunities the new year brings and hope to see many of you at MRE in February.
